Red Map empty The old and the newRed Map is the last painting I painted on the series Spain as a Peninsula. Peninsulas have some feeling of connection and disconnection, and I think that this feeling expressed (and expresses) very well my quality as a resident of the United States. Being at the extreme of something that keeps them connected, afloat, and that gives them continuity, peninsulas always have some isolation, some loneliness.
