After Piero Della Francesca's Madonna del Parto 2 (c 1455) Size:13" x 16" Unframed Print I call it the BirdyI stumbled on an image of this fresco and I was fascinated at how the Madonna is pictured with her hand on her pregnant belly. There's something about her knowing expression that is really captivating, so I had to make a quick copy. This piece is part of my upcoming exhibition The Faces of CHiPs What if God lived in Gowanus? a series of studies and portraits of the people of CHiPs, a soup kitchen residence that has served my neighborhood for 50 years.
