Examples may be found on Roman gravestones in Bonn, on the Luxor fresco in Egypt, and amongst the excavations of Legio VIII Augusta at the fort of Vindonissa in Switzerland. Originally, tunics had no sleeves. Some tunics were constructed from more fabric, which naturally formed sleeves.
