Buckets of this kind were used at least from the Celtic La Tne period, also amongst the Germanic peoples and Vikings, and later during the Middle Ages and Renaissance. Reinforced by steel rims, it has a capacity of 10 litres. This model is entirely handmade and is fitted with a rope handle by which the bucket may be carried.
