不眠症は作者の一生涯にわたり付きまとった。1994年11月から1995年6月にかけて、彼女は眠れない時間に浮かび上がった思考や記憶、イメージを紙に書き留めた。こうして生まれた220点のドローイングは、作者にインスピレーションを与えた衝動、源泉、モチーフの真髄を体現している。2001年に「Scalo and The Daros Collection」より刊行された本書は、「イーストン財団（The Easton Foundation）」と出版社「Hauser & Wirth」の協力により新たに刊行された。
